Our BabbaBox was packed with tons of goodies! I was expecting the craft projects, but there was so much more than that. Our box's theme was Sun, Moon, and Stars. We actually did a unit on this theme earlier this fall in our homeschool so it was a great way to review what we had learned. My kids were jumping all over me, trying to get to the box when I opened it.
The first item pulled out if the box was a book. A book! My kids love books and we have read this several times.
We also received a set of small binoculars. My kids love binoculars so these were also a big hit. The binoculars go with a lunar calendar activity where the kids observe the moon every night of the month and record its phases. We did something similar for our homeschool unit and the kids loved it. The kids have also gone on several safaris in the backyard with the binoculars.
An unexpected surprise was in the box for mom and dad - a little Babba Parent gift. I'm giving several wine toppers as Christmas gifts so I was tickled to get one for us. Thanks, Babba Co.!
Finally, the much anticipated craft projects. There were two - a Paper-Mache "Moon" Nightlight ...
... and a Constellation Frame. The paper-mache night light looks really neat, but the kids wanted to do something now so we pulled out the constellation project.
The Constellation Frame is really neat. It uses a really cool sun paper to make a picture or constellation. We put our star stickers on the paper in a darkened room and then took the paper outside to expose it to the sun.
After just a minute or two in our intense sun, we took the paper back inside, put it in water and peeled off the stickers. Then we let it dry.
While the paper dried, we colored some included coloring sheets about stars and constellations.
Once the paper dried, we put our picture in the frame! The kids can't wait to do the Paper-Mache project next.
